June 18, 2017

OKLAHOMA CITY-

The city of Enid Water Reclamation Facility (WRF), operated by The Stover Group, an environmental engineering, consulting and operations firm based out of Stillwater, received two awards at the Oklahoma Water Environment Association Annual Conference.

The WRF received the Burke Safety Award and the William D. Hatfield Award.

The Burke Safety Award is presented to a wastewater treatment facility that has exhibited the best safety record in the past calendar year.

Evaluation criteria for the award includes the overall safety record, site safety plan, documented and illustrated safety program, and other criteria established by the Association.

The William D. Hatfield Award was awarded to Dr. Ross Stover of The Stover Group. This award is presented to operators of wastewater treatment plants for outstanding performance and professionalism.

The award was established in honor of Dr. William D. Hatfield, superintendent of the Decatur, Ill., Sanitary District, who was president of the Central States Sewage Works Association in 1944-45 and served as president of the Water Environment Federation in 1958-59. Stover serves as project manager for the WRF operations group, and as the operator of record for the facility.

Stover and The Stover Group have performed treatment plant process optimization, resulting in reduced operating cost, while improving nitrogen and phosphorus removal for reduced nutrient loading to Skeleton Creek.
